(NECN) - A Massachusetts group is looking to buy the Boston Globe.
"The 2100 Trust'' says it's rounding up investors to make a bid to purchase the globe from its parent company, The New York Times company.
The firm says it wants to make a significant long-term investment in the newspapers. The Times had entertained offers for the Globe last year but took the newspaper off the market after determining that its finances had stabilized.
The Globe is part of the New England Media Group, which also includes the Telegram & Gazette of Worcester.
