Menino on Mattapan Shootings: ‘Cowards Kill, Cowards Use Guns to Settle Their Scores'

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Boston Mayor Tom Menino held a news conference this morning after a fatal shooting in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood.

The shooting left a toddler and three other people dead; a fifth victim is hospitalized and not expected to survive.

There have been no arrests and police have asked the public for help.

Menino is calling this a "senseless act caused by those who have no regard for life."

No names have been released at this time.

Menino said "Cowards kill. Cowards use guns to settle their scores. Cowards hide."

Police are looking for a silver or gray Ford Explorer that may be connected to the shooting.

Menino said "Mattapan is strong" and it will not all these cowards to "poison our city."

Police Commissioner Ed Davis says the shooting took place on Woolson Street.
