Nor'easter Causes New England Flooding

(NECN: Brendan Monahan, Waltham, Mass.) - A spring nor'easter hit New England over the weekend, bringing rain, snow, and wind to the region.

Up to five inches of rain and over a foot of snow were expected in some areas.

North Adams, Mass. lost cell and internet services as a result of the storm.

The storm caused flooding in much of Southern New England, as the ground thawed and the snow melted during the storm.

New Bedford, Mass. Police confirmed that Purchase Street at Sawyer and Dean Streets have been shut down. Parts of Route 18 has been closed as well.

The rain caused a sinkhole on Wyman Street in Waltham, Mass. in an area that was previously under construction. They were able to repair it temporarily to reopen the road to traffic.
