Patriots Fans Confident Team Will Make It to Super Bowl

(NECN: Eileen Curran, Foxboro, Mass.) - The Baltimore Ravens are coming to Foxboro, Mass. next weekend, as the New England Patriots playoff push continues.

The Patriots earned a spot in next week's AFC Championship after shutting down the Houston Texans for a second time this season.

The Pats pulled out a 41-28 victory without the help of Rob Gronkowski who re-broke his arm in the first quarter while making an out of bounds catch.

The Patriots host the Ravens next Sunday in Foxboro. The winner is Super Bowl-bound.

The AFC Championship game will be a rematch of last year's game. Pats fans are anticipating another win and making plans for the super bowl.

John and Tina Mastroianni are shopping for Patriots gear, although John is already covered head to toe with his favorite team.

“I’m already all geared up but you can never have enough Pats gear,” he says.

The season ticket holders were at Sunday’s game where the Patriots beat the Texans to get to the AFC Championship.

“Relieved and excited and looking forward to next week.”

New England will take on Baltimore next week. It’s a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship, which came down to one field goal.

“Baltimore is a very tough opponent. The Patriots know that and they are definitely not going to take them lightly.”

Still, Pats fans are feeling pretty confident their team is headed for the Super Bowl.

“I think it’s a gimme.”

“One hundred percent confident we’re going to New Orleans.”

Sisters Lesley Sklar and Lisa Dewhurst have been season ticket holders for 20 years. They are already planning to go to New Orleans. They say despite losing Gronk for the rest of the season Sunday, the Patriots will prevail over the Ravens.

“Brady will find someone to throw that ball to like Shane Vereen and we’ll figure it out.”
