Sen. Forry: There's Nothing Wrong With Your TV- I'm a Woman!

(NECN: South Boston, Mass.) – Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Sunday, politicians came together at Boston’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast.

For the first time, Massachusetts Sen. Linda Dorcena Forry of Boston hosted the breakfast, considered one of the city's biggest political events.

“There is nothing wrong with the picture on your TV. That is right, everyone. That’s right. I’m a woman,” said Sen. Forry when she opened the event, as she is the first woman to host the breakfast.

She continued by introducing Pauline Wells, who sang the Irish and U.S. anthems.

In addition, Sen. Forry talked about former Boston Mayor Tom Menino’s recent announcement that he is battling cancer.

“Today’s St. Patrick’s Day breakfast is dedicated to Mayor Menino and his speedy and successful recovery,” she said.

Each year, the breakfast gives politicians in the state a chance to tease their colleagues and laugh at themselves.

After the event, South Boston's annual St. Patrick’s Day parade is scheduled to take place.
