Severe Weather Forces Plane to Land at Logan Airport

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Severe turbulence from thunderstorms forced an American Airlines flight from New York, headed to Brussels, to make an unexpected pit stop in Boston, Massachusetts.

Flight 172 landed safely at Logan Airport around 10:40 Sunday night. Passengers say the wind and rain made for a scary experience.

Because of all the rain, the flight did not take off until 11:00 this morning. The meant passengers had to spend the night on cots at the airport.
