(NECN: Alysha Palumbo - Boston) - As more snow started to fall throughout the hub, public works crews began their carefully orchestrated - now nearly weekly routine - of clearing the roads and sidewalks of the slippery slush.
Dan McGuane of Boston said, "As far as I can see they've done a tremendous job, not like those fools in New York."
With 25-thousand tons of salt and sand, Boston was well-prepared for this storm, loading up trucks for the long night ahead.
Boston DPW Commissioner Joanne Massarro said, "50 inches in 30 days, we're doing the best we can out there and we ask people's patience."
But with large snow banks lining city streets and snow piles like this one towering over neighborhoods, people are starting to wonder where this snow is going to go.
Dawn Velsor of Taunton, MA said, "It's wearing a little thin for the month of January."
Subash Pereira of Boston said, "It's crazy, it's much worse than I have experienced."

"I don't think it's ever going to melt, I mean it's awful obviously and it's putting people into really bad moods," said Emily Lospennato of Revere, MA.
With yet another snow emergency in effect, the city is asking for the public's help to keep the roads clear.
Boston Transportation Commissioner Tom Tinlin said, "Nobody likes to be out there tagging and towing cars in the middle of a snow storm, but if we don't do it, if we don't show up, what is tough going now would be impossible going later."
And that has even hearty New Englanders dreaming of somewhere warmer.
Lospennato said, "I was just on the phone with my dad asking him if he will pay to take me on vacation, I really want to go to Aruba."
Velsor said, "Somewhere south, not so much Florida because it's still cold but I was thinking the Carolinas wouldn't sound so bad right now."
