(NECN) - Steve Wynn, who is actively pursuing plans for a casino in Everett, Mass., reportedly wants to include a $1 billion tower along the Mystic River.
Wynn tells The Boston Globe that the hotel would also feature shops, restaurants and a spa.
He faces competition for Boston's sole casino license from Caesars Entertainment, which has the support of Boston Mayor Tom Menino.
