Storm's Unlikeliest and Tiniest Survivor Thriving 1 Year Later

(NECN) – Friday, June 1 marks the one-year anniversary of the deadly tornadoes that swept across western Massachusetts.

In Brimfield, the storm's tiniest and unlikeliest survivor was a six-ounce kitten named Toto who was rescued from a tree after being blown there by a storm.

The kitten was brought to the Animal Rescue League of Boston where Toto spent two months in their care.

Jonathan Hall was a volunteer EMT during the storm and adopted Toto.

Jonathan and Toto joined us.

Jonathan shares the story of Toto, which he says is one of the good stories out of Brimfield.

Toto is a healthy, happy cat now who is really thriving.

Toto has been an ambassador for the Animal Rescue League, visiting schools and libraries.

Jonathan wrote a children’s book, “Toto The Tornado Kitten,” to share Toto’s story in order to bring some closure to people.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Watch the interview for more on Toto and Jonathan.
