Strong Winds Cause Problems on Cape Cod

(NECN: Nicole Jacobs, Sandwich, Mass.) - On Wednesday, a rare late March blizzard stuck parts of New England, with the heaviest impact on Cape Cod, the islands, and eastern Maine.

NSTAR crews in Sandwich, Mass. were already at work on Wednesday morning, as the blizzard conditions worsened.

A power line fell on Salt Marsh Road where crews came out to disconnect the power and extinguish the flames the live line had caused. This is just one example of the strength of the winds on Cape Cod as a result of the storm.

In addition, the tide on the Cape's coast was coming on shore quickly. Fire crews and NSTAR were leaving the area quickly, as concerns rise that Salt March Road in East Sandwich may flood.
