Third Arrest Made in Mattapan Murders

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the murders of four people in the Mattapan section of Boston, Massachusetts.

Edward Washington of Dorchester was arrested this afternoon and is being charged with four counts of murder, one count of armed assault with intent to murder, home invasion, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

He is expected to face arraignment on those charges Thursday morning.

Washington is the cousin of Kimani Washington, who is currently being held on $500,000 cash bail on charges stemming from the September 28 shooting deaths of Levaughn Washum-Garrison, Simba Martin, Eyanna Flonory, and her two-year-old son, Amanihotep Smith on Woolson Street.

Dwayne Moore has also been charged in the shootings. He is being held without bail.

A fifth victim remains in critical condition.
