Tornado-wracked Mass. Town Plants Trees of Hope

(NECN: Scot Yount, Brimfield, Mass.) - There may be no way to replace the natural landcape that was devastated last June, but the symbolism of planting just one tree in the town center was profound as this western Massachusetts town continues to rebuild after last June's tornado.

Volunteers and employees from the state Department of Conservation descended on the town to plant about 150 trees and saplings in an effort to replace, at least over the long term, what was lost last June 1, when a tornado swept through the region and the town, which was one of the hardest hit.
