BOSTON (AP) - A veteran Boston police officer who has faced disciplinary action in the past has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges.
Henderson Parker was ordered held on $1,000 bail at his arraignment Monday in West Roxbury District Court on charges of rape and indecent assault and battery.
The 45-year-old Parker, an 18-year veteran of the department, has been suspended with pay and his gun has been confiscated.
Parker surrendered after a woman called police and said she had been assaulted late Sunday night.

Parker's lawyer says his client denies the charges.
Parker was suspended for 30 days in 2002 following "a physical confrontation of a domestic nature that resulted in injuries."
