(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - We are getting our first look at James "Whitey" Bulger since his arrest last week.
In this video, you will see the former Boston, Massachusetts Mob boss being flown into a remote tarmac at Logan Airport via a Coast Guard helicopter. He then got into a truck and was transported to a federal courthouse in Boston.
The Coast Guard says a Coast Guard helicopter, such as this one that Bulger flew on, costs $13,880 per hour. The cost includes fuel, maintenance and wear and tear.
Bulger has two hearings set up for Thursday.
Bulger is seeking a taxpayer-funded attorney. He is also fighting a move by prosecutors to dismiss an old racketeering indictment in favor of a later case charging him with participating in 19 murders.
Bulger was captured last week in Santa Monica, California after 16 years on the run.
Also captured was Bulger's longtime girlfriend Catherine Greig.
