Video Contest Hopes to Lure JetBlue to Worcester

NECN, Katelyn Tivnan) – A Worcester businessman has launched a new contest to land JetBlue at Worcester Airport.

He's asking people to make a video about why the airline should come to the city and there's a $2,000 prize for the best submission.

Bill Randell created the contest and says he says he wasn't sure what to expect.

He's asking people and businesses to create 1-2 minute video telling JetBlue CEO Dave Barger why the airline should fly out of Worcester.

And videos like the one in the attached report are already pouring in.

Massport says there are no official announcements, but they are working to promote the airport to air carriers.

Mass. Lt. Gov. Tim Murray says having JetBlue return to Worcester for a second visit is a good sign.

Meanwhile, Randell says the contest is his way of playing a part in the Airport’s future success.

“So many things you can get done on your own,” Randell said. “I hope it inspires people to do something. It can be done.”
