It happened on Paine street just before 11 a.m.

Sixty-year-old Georgina Ross had just put her grandchild down for a nap. She went out to the garage and she was struck by someone using a blunt instrument. Her husband came home about 20 minutes later and found her on the garage floor, bleeding from the head.

Ross is as the hospital, and it is too early to know if anything was taken from the home. The child was not injured.

Eileen Curran has more.
