Police in Salem, New Hampshire, are thanking a resident who cleared a path around a fire hydrant before the town's fire department responded to a blaze.

According to authorities, the fire department responded to a structure fire at 10 Highland Avenue Wednesday morning. On the department's Twitter account, they said "having water readily available was paramount."
