Autopsy Scheduled for Man Who Drowned in Lake

The man's name has been withheld pending notification of family

New Hampshire State Police say they don't believe foul play was involved in the death of a 32-year-old man who went underwater at Echo Lake State Park in Conway and didn't resurface.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

The man's name has been withheld pending notification of family. Police say he was from Canada.

The Marine Patrol received the emergency call about the man on Monday afternoon, who had been swimming in the lake. Lifeguards found him and took him to shore, where they began CPR. The man was later pronounced dead at a hospital in North Conway.

Echo Lake is part of a 118-acre state park and is popular for swimming and picnicking.
