While most parents are happy for their kids to return to school, some may be experiencing separation anxiety

Some kids are preparing to go back to school, while others returned this week.

While most parents are psyched for their kids to go back to school, some stay-at-home moms and dads may not be all that excited about their kids leaving and might experience separation anxiety

Dr. Leena Mittal, director of perinatal psychiatry at Brigham and Women's Hospital joined us for more on the subject.

She said that the bond between a parent and child is formed even before the child is born, so it makes sense for a parent to feel some sort of anxiety.
