Boston Public Schools Downsizing Faculty, Staff

School officials say the downsizing will save the school district $9.5M

The Boston Public School system has cut more than 100 positions at its central offices.

The interim school superintendent confirms 126 positions were eliminated, including 12 administrators and 23 teachers who were serving as coaches to their colleagues districtwide.

The other affected positions include secretaries, aides, part-timers, and support staff.

School officials say the downsizing will save the school district $9.5 million.
