Bride-To-Be Turns Cancelled Wedding into Charity Event

A Massachusetts woman turned her bad luck into something great

Just two weeks before her wedding, Tanisha Salmon's fiancee informed her that he was cancelling.

Devastated, Tanisha was forced to send embarrassing notifications to friends and family informing them that the wedding was off.

She reached out to the venue and vendors and was informed that all monies paid were non-refundable, as well as her dress and the bridesmaid dresses.

After a week of trying to figure out what to do, Tanisha decided to have the party anyway...but with a twist.

Instead of having a party with guests of hers, Tanisha decided to organize an event benefiting the Women's Lunch Plate.

Tanisha created the hope is a Dream Foundation First Annual Holiday Party.

Anyone can purchase tickets for $50 a person which will go towards the Women's Lunch Plate, an organization for women in need.

In addition, guests are asked to donate personal items such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap, as well as clothing.

The event will take place on Saturday December 19th from 6pm-10pm at the Indian Pond Country Club.
