A man was arrested after crashing a car into a house on Lublin Street in Arlington, Massachusetts, then brandishing a knife Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The man, identified as 53-year-old Rodolfo Garces of Fresno, California, is suspected of brandishing a short knife at a resident of the home, Arlington police said. No one appeared to have been injured in the crash or Garces' arrest.
The man who approached the crashed car said he saw "somebody in the passenger seat that was sleeping or under the influence. They regained consciousness and ran out of the car, and that's when we called the cops."
He was in the home with his wife and two kids. The woman said, "I was terrified because my husband was working in the basement and I thought he would be injured."

The incident took place on Lublin Street, which is near the town of Lexington; its officers were helping investigate the case, according to Arlington police.
Police had searched for a second person who might have been involved in the incident, but no one else was found, and Arlington police said they determined Garces was the only person in the vehicle.
Garces was found in the bushes of a nearby property shortly after police arrived after being called about 1:35 p.m. Police said he faces charges of negligent operation of a vehicle, fleeing the scene of a crash that damaged property and assault with a dangerous weapon.

He is due in court Wednesday. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney who could speak to the charges.
