Man Found Guilty in Fatal Shooting of Bridgeport, Conn. Man

A Bridgeport man faces up to 85 years in prison after he was convicting of robbing and fatally shooting a 23-year-old man.

The Connecticut Post reports a jury on Wednesday found 25-year-old Dovante "Ritz" Gray-Brown guilty of felony murder, first-degree robbery and carrying a pistol without a permit in the death of Dwayne Gardner, of Bridgeport.

Gardner was found shot to death in his SUV on the morning of Dec. 16, 2013. His cellphone, money and drugs were missing.

The case went cold until police arrested a Bridgeport man who testified that he and Gray-Brown planned to rob Gardner after meeting him to buy drugs. The man denied taking part in the robbery.

Gray-Brown is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 12.
