Connecticut Teacher on Leave Amid Police Investigation

A teacher at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut, has been placed on administrative leave and police said the case is under investigation.

WestportNow.com reports that Supt. Elliot Landon sent an email to parents informing them of the situation.

"Today the Westport Police Department informed us that a teacher at Staples High School was under investigation based upon information the school district gleaned from an outside source," Landon wrote, according to WestportNow.com. "Upon receiving the information we immediately communicated the information to the Westport Police Department and the Department of Children and Family Services."

The teacher has not been publicly identified and police have declined to comment on the case while the investigation is ongoing.

The allegations against the teacher are unclear.
