Police have arrested one of two drivers involved in a hit-and-run crush that killed a teen who was riding his bicycle in Waterbury on Monday night.

Family members said 18-year-old Eric Delage was biking home from the store when he was struck and killed. According to Delage's sister, he is the youngest of three siblings.

Police said a red 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer struck Delage while driving northbound on Baldwin Street around 8 p.m. Monday. The driver, 30-year-old Israel Diaz, of Waterbury, was arrested Monday evening.

The impact of the first collision knocked Delange in to the southbound lane, where an oncoming car crashed into him and kept going, according to police.

An ambulance rushed Delage to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Diaz was charged with felony evading responsibility and several motor vehicle offenses. He appeared in court Tuesday morning.

Police are still searching for the second driver the car as a Town & Country or Caravan minivan that is possibly silver.

Anyone with information on the crash is to call the police department's Crimestoppers line at 203-755-1234.
