Dozens taken to hospital, 80 treated after Avicii concert in Boston

36 people in all were taken to area hospitals; no serious injuries

(NECN: John Moroney) - More than 80 people treated inside and outside the TD Garden after an Avicii concert Wednesday night.

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, but the city has cited the Garden for numerous under aged concert-goers that required transportation to the hospital.

According to emergency responders, 36 people in all were taken to area hospitals. About 50 others were treated at the Garden and released.

Their ages ranged from 16 to 25. Most of the people who needed help were under age and had been drinking or using drugs.

The concert was put on by the Swedish DJ Avicii, who tweeted after the concert: Just hearing the awful news about tonight. It's a terrible thing, I really hope everyone is ok! My thoughts go to those affected & their families.

A check of the hospital this morning where the patients were taken showed most had been treated and released, many of them to the custody of their parents.

The TD Garden says it takes what happened seriously, adding in a statement: "We continued our proactive policy to identify impaired guests, bring them to first aid for medical evaluation and transport when necessary. By following our policy, half of the affected guests were identified prior to entering the arena and were immediately treated."
