Police: Suspect Fled From School, Crashed Car

After a high school in Scituate, Massachusetts, was put on lockdown, police say they chased a male suspect before he crashed his car in Hingham.

Police say a male suspect crashed his car after being chased from a Scituate, Massachusetts, high school, which was locked down during the incident.

The suspect, who is known to police and school officials, was described as "unwanted" at Scituate High School. After police were notified, he was found quickly but fled in his car.

The chase ended when the driver crashed near the intersection of Central Street and Emerald Street in Hingham.

The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, faces multiple charges.

He was taken to South Shore Hospital with minor injuries.

The Scituate High School lockdown was lifted. Roads in the area of the crash were briefly closed, but have since opened.

Hingham Police and Scituate Police were on the scene.
