Ex-Businessman Found Guilty of 2013 Kidnapping

Prosecutors say Thomas Minichiello used a phony name when he met the victim and lied to her about owning a company

A former New Hampshire businessman has been found guilty of kidnapping after he lured a 23-year-old woman to a hotel room under the guise of a job interview in 2013.

Sixty-three-year-old Thomas Minichiello was convicted Monday of kidnapping with the purpose of committing assault, sexual assault and criminal threatening.

Prosecutors say Minichiello used a phony name when he met the victim and lied to her about owning a company.

The victim told police that she was brought to Minichiello's Dover hotel room in September 2013 for an "interview," which included a physical exam and questions about her sexual preferences.

Minichiello had the victim assume "bizarre poses" and assaulted her during this time. She lied about having AIDS to escape the padlocked room.

Minichiello faces up to seven years behind bars.
