A dog that had been trapped in a drain pipe in Boston's West Roxbury neighborhood Wednesday was freed.
The Boston Fire Department had sent crews to free the animal, and shared images of the crews working to free it. They were using a camera to find the dog's position, officials said, and images showed men in a trench and the end of the pipe.
Cheers erupted after the dog was pulled out of the drain.
The dog, named Hubert, is a rescue dog.
The dogwalker said Hubert ran into the drain after hearing a loud noise. After his rescue, the dog's mom raised her hands to the sky as they walked away.
Boston drain workers and a National Grid backhoe assisted in the rescue -- fire officials said the dog had been running deeper into the pipe when he heard noise, so they dug behind him.
