Former Mill Undergoing Renovation Labeled Historic

A former industrial complex that's being bought for renovation in Nashua, New Hampshire, has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Nashua Telegraph reports it was once part of the Nashua Gummed and Coated Paper Company in the 1800s and became Nashua Corp. in 1952.

The complex fell into disrepair, but Brady Sullivan Properties recently bought the rundown building and wants to covert the brick mill structure into more than 160 apartments. The designation means the property and developer can benefit from a 20 percent tax credit for the project.

Peter Michaud, preservation tax incentives and easements coordinator for the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources, says the collection of buildings in the complex reflects the architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries.
