A former nursing assistant was arrested Monday for allegedly covering a 92-year-old woman’s mouth during her stay at a nursing center in Dover, New Hampshire.
Eighteen-year-old Samantha Siegel, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, turned herself in more than a month later than the alleged assault.
She is accused of covering the elderly woman’s mouth on July 8 at St. Ann’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where she was employed.
Dover police initiated an investigation July 20 and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, according to officials. Monday morning, she surrendered to police, then was released on $500 bail.
Siegel is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 15 at the Seventh Circuit Court in Dover. It is unclear if she has an attorney.
