GOP Congressman's Finances Remain Under Scrutiny

Guinta, on an FEC order, returned the money in January

U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta's campaign finances are under fresh scrutiny three weeks before his Republican primary.

Fergus Cullen, a former New Hampshire GOP chairman, is asking the Federal Election Commission to investigate whether Guinta is again improperly claiming a family bank account as his own. The complaint centers on a bank account the commission found Guinta illegally drew $355,000 from for his 2010 campaign.

Guinta, on an FEC order, returned the money in January. He is now listing the family account as his own on his latest financial disclosure forms.

Cullen says the forms show Guinta going against the FEC and wrongly claiming the money as his own. Guinta's office says he must list the account because he's now a signatory and will not use the money for his campaign.
