Halloween Forecast: A Classic Fall Treat for New England

A secondary push of cooler air will move into the region today, keeping Canadian air moving in on a brisk wind beneath a blend of sun and clouds.

Though temperatures for Friday evening early Halloween fun will be around 50 just after dusk, the active northwest breeze will make it feel like the 40s.

Later in the overnight, low temperatures will hit the 20s and 30s, with a hard freeze deep into Southern New England. Saturday dawns sunny and ends with increasing clouds as a weak storm system moves through Southern Canada.

Though the wind will be lighter than Friday, temperatures will be a bit cooler, so the day ends up feeling very much like Friday. By trick-or-treat, a light wind and temperatures in the 40s are expected under a veil of high-altitude clouds, but New England will remain dry!

Sunday brings a few scattered showers to Northern New England, but at this point, it looks like Central and Southern New England will mostly avoid Sunday showers, though many clouds are expected.

Next week may start with some showers on Monday, particularly in Southern New England, but those would come on the leading edge to milder air that will take hold for midweek, with daily high temperatures some 10-15 degrees above normal Tuesday through Thursday...and perhaps Friday, as well! Cooler air is expected to arrive for next weekend - and don't forget: we set clocks back one hour this Saturday night.
