After 70 years in business, an old fashioned hardware store in southern Rhode Island is shutting its doors.

Damon’s Hardware in South Kingstown's Wakefield Village will shut down later this week now that its owners are set to retire.

David and Antonia Chappell bought Damon's back in 1982 and told the Providence Journal they were ready to spend more time with their children and grandchildren.

Damon's will close this Thursday.
