Our Ally Donnelly joined us from the FedEx Shipping Center in South Boston, where she got great advice on how to ship right and save on shipping.
Joe Zingarelli, the FedEx Station Ops Manager, said Monday, Dec. 15, was expected to be the busiest shipping day of the year, with 22.5 million packages expected to be shipped globally.
He said that people have the option to customize their delivery online with the FedEx Delivery Manager.
He also recommended considering an alternate destination in case the first shipping destination doesn’t work out.
FedEx Courier Kara O’Brien discussed packing tips, and said that the first step is to choose the right box and make sure that the contents are secure.
She also said that people should leave wrapping paper off the main box, because the paper and bows can get caught. She said to leave the wrapping for the items inside of the box.
She also said the easiest way to save money is to ship earlier, but customers can also customize their delivery to fit their budget.
