A man was hit twice while crossing a street in Holliston, Massachusetts, early Monday morning, police said, asking for the public's help in finding the first vehicle to hit him.
The victim, who is 45, was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center but is expected to survive his injuries, according to a statement from the Holliston Police Department.
Police believe a white SUV first hit the man, then didn't stop. The second vehicle that hit him did stay at the scene of the crash, which took place just before 6:30 a.m. on Washington Street near Old Locust Street, police said.
The man who was hit was crossing Washington Street on foot to get back to his vehicle (someone else was driving) after either delivering or picking up a package, according to the preliminary police investigation.
After being hit by the SUV in the eastbound lane, the man fell into the westbound lane, where he was hit by the second vehicle, police said.
Police are asking anyone who saw the incident near 140 Washington Street or was in the area when the crashes took place to call 508-429-1212.
