Hot, Humid Weather Surges In

Starting on Tuesday dew points will climb into the low and middle 60s

While still early in the season, the absence of humidity around New England has certainly been notable. That changes in a big way this week.

Starting on Tuesday dew points will climb into the low and middle 60s. Recall that dew points are a measure of moisture in the air. Anything below 60 is comfortable. The increase in humidity comes with morning rain showers and downpours in Southern New England on Tuesday, before sunshine gradually works back in during the rest of the day. Northern New England will enjoy the most sun of all. Air temperatures will reach the 80s for many.

Muggy weather continues into Wednesday and sunshine will be more abundant courtesy of high pressure just to our south. That means highs will surge into the upper 80s and even the 90s. Maine will see a few pop up showers.

Humidity will become oppressive late week. Couple that with temperatures around 90 again on Thursday and it will certainly feel like summer. By Friday highs will settle back into the 80s but it stays muggy. Both days will feature scattered showers, downpours, and thunderstorms.
