1 Person Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash

One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Monticello, Maine, according to police

One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Monticello, Maine, according to police.

Police responded to the crash on Route 1 in the area of the Monticello/Littleton town line.

Upon investigation, police discovered that Patricia Perkins, 35, of Presque Isle, was traveling northbound on Route 1, when she drifted over the center line and into the path of another vehicle, driven by Michael Trader, 29, of New York.

The two vehicles struck head on, causing substantial damage to both vehicles.

Trader was uninjured in the crash, but Perkins sustained serious internal injuries and “Jaws of Life” were needed to remove her from her vehicle.

She was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital for treatment and then transferred to EMMC in Bangor.
