2 Killed, Firefighter Hurt in Maine House Fire

Two people were killed and a firefighter was injured in a house fire in Old Town, Maine, according to necn affiliate WCSH.

First responders tried to revive one of the victims but were unsuccessful, said Old Town Fire Chief Steve O'Malley.

According to police, 68-year-old Adrienne Raff-Prekop had an oxygen tank. Someone smoked in the home, causing the fire that killed her and 67-year-old Joseph Prekop.

He added that a dog was also killed and crews are that working to locate two missing cats.

Multiple fire departments responded to the fire at 141 Southgate Rd around 11 a.m.

Joseph Prekop was one of the people who called 911 to report the fire before he was overcome by smoke and unable to escape.
