3 Charged After Police Seize Gun, Drugs

Three men have been arrested after police found an assault rifle, heroin and crack cocaine at a home in Waldoboro, Maine.

Police say 26-year-old Jeffrey Aviles of the Bronx, New York, was regularly transporting the drugs to the Flanders Corner Road home of 45-year-old Alphonso Belnavis and 48-year-old Dean Feltis.

After an investigation, authorities raided the residence on Wednesday and found an AR-15 with 200 rounds, 28 grams of crack, a gram of heroin and $2,500.

According to officials, the street value of the drugs is about $3,000.

Police say when they arrived, the suspects tried to destroy the drugs and run out the back door. Officers tackled Feltis on the back deck and arrested Aviles and Belnavis inside.

Aviles is charged with aggravated trafficking of crack and illegal possession of a gun. Belnavis was charged with aggravated cocaine trafficking and Feltis with illegal heroin possession.

Bail was set at $100,000 for Belnavis, $50,000 for Aviles and $5,000 for Feltis.

All three men were held at Two Bridges Jail.
