7 Arrested in Trafficking of Heroin, Crack Cocaine in Maine

After a month-long investigation, seven people were arrested Wednesday for their roles in trafficking heroin and crack cocaine in Maine's Lincoln and Knox Counties.

Those facing charges include: Chas Echols, 24, of Rochester, New York; Rashad Newsome, 24, of Rochester, New York; Brianna Parlin, 24, of Rockland; Felichia Glidden, 22, of Waldoboro; Chris Knight, 24, of Rockland; Harley Winchenbach, 23, of Waldoboro; and Syndi Barham, 28, of Rockland.

The investigation revealed that Echols and Newsome would rent cars weekly to travel back and forth from New York to maine. Each trip transported heroin and crack to be sold in Thomaston, Rockland and Waldoboro.

Echols and Newsome were assisted in their drug trafficking by the Maine residents, including Parlin, Glidden, Winchenbach and Barham. Knight faces a felony possession of heroin charge.

Authorities anticipate additional charges and arrests this week.
