3 Found Dead in 2 Maine Homes Identified

Maine State Police say autopsies will be done Sunday on three bodies found inside two houses in the coastal Maine town of Boothbay Harbor.

Police confirm that 71-year-old Svend and 75-year-old Carol Jorgensen, and their son, 40-year-old Eric Jorgensen, were among the dead.

Eric Jorgensen was a teacher at McAuley High School, officials confirmed to necn affiliate WCSH. The school sent a letter to parents Sunday.

State police spokesman Stephen McCausland said Sunday that police will await autopsy results before releasing details of the incidents. He said the public is not in danger.

McCausland said the victims are a man and woman in their 70s and a man in his 40s.

He says the houses where the bodies were found are about two miles apart. McCausland said the identities of the deceased will be released later Sunday.

Two bodies were found Saturday inside a home on Lakeside Drive and later a third was found inside a home on Montgomery Road.
