Barbara Bush Celebrates 90th Birthday in Maine

Barbara Bush is celebrating her 90th birthday in Maine by raising millions of dollars for family literacy.

It was just last year George H. W. Bush celebrated his 90th birthday in Maine by jumping out of a plane. This year, his wife Barbara turns 90, and has decided to stay grounded.

She's invited 400 people to join her family in Kennebunkport for a gala and fundraiser to benefit the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy.

With each guest paying at least $5,000 to attend, Mrs. Bush's birthday party has already brought in $17 million dollars for the foundation.

Those not on the guest list are still finding ways to celebrate by hanging birthday banners around town.

Visitors to the first family's museum are taking a look back at Barbara's life. A new Barbara Bush exhibit at the museum showcases her two loves: family and reading.

And that theme continues into her 90th year- raising millions of dollars for her cause. It's no plane jump, but for Barbara that's just as thrilling.
