Bowdoin Student Charged in Alleged Rape

Police say 21-year-old Logan Taylor was arrested early Sunday morning

A Bowdoin College student is facing sexual assault charges for allegedly raping a woman on the Brunswick, Maine, campus.

Police say 21-year-old Logan Taylor was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with gross sexual assault, just hours after the alleged assault.

Sgt. Paul Hansen said Monday that Brunswick police were first called by Bowdoin security at 2:30 a.m. Sunday to the area of a footbridge that connects Brunswick and Topsham to talk to a 20-year-old female student.

The woman told police she had been raped and identified her alleged assailant. She was taken to the hospital.

Taylor was tracked down several hours later. He remained jailed on $1,000 bail late Monday and it was not clear if he had a lawyer.
