Cops: Man Stole $9K Worth of Items From Commercial Building

Police arrested Shane Cook for a break-in that occurred Feb. 19 or Feb. 20

A 23-year-old Scarborough, Maine, man faces charges in connection with the theft of $9,000 worth of electronics and tools from a Portland commercial building.

Police arrested Shane Cook for a break-in that occurred Feb. 19 or Feb. 20, in which a laptop computer and several tools, including a $3,000 air wrench, were stolen.

Detectives recovered all the stolen property from a Portland pawn shop and identified Cook as a suspect.

Portland police working with Westbrook officers arrested Cook when he arrived at work in Westbrook.

Police say when he was taken to Cumberland County Jail in Portland he was found to have a small amount of heroin.

He is being held on $25,000 bail.
