Double Stabbing Investigation Underway at Maine Mall

Authorities are investigating a double stabbing at a Maine mall, necn affiliate WCSH6 reports.

Police in Bangor say the suspects, a male and a female still on the loose, stabbed two people at the JCPenny and American Eagle stores just after 11:30 a.m. inside the Bangor Mall. Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at local hospitals.

Around 2:55 p.m., police arrested 34-year-old Elizabeth Ellis as result of the investigation. She was charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Bangor police say the mall and stores inside were under lockdown during the afternoon as they investigated.

Authorities believe the stabbings were random acts.
