Driver Sought in Hit-and-Run of Woman in Wheelchair

Police in Rockland, Maine, are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a woman in a wheelchair. 

Police say the driver a dark sedan struck a woman in a wheel chair from behind, seriously injuring 52-year-old Arlene Holt. The driver left the scene. 

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday near the Maritime Farm Store on South Main Street. 

Holt was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. A hospital spokesperson says she is in fair condition. 

Police are asking the public’s help in tracking down witnesses and surveillance footage from the area.

They say the dark-colored sedan should have lower center and left front damage to it.
