Fisherman Rescued off Maine Shore

Nathan Murphy's condition was unknown as of Monday night

Officials say a fisherman required rescue by the Coast Guard after he suffered an injury to his hand in waters off the eastern coast of Maine.

The Portland Press Herald reports
Nathan Murphy, a crewman aboard the 35-foot fishing vessel Latta II, was transported Monday to the mainland by a 45-foot motor lifeboat operated by Coast Guard members stationed in Eastport.

Coast Guard officials say Murphy hurt his left hand while he was operating a winch on the boat. The accident was reported around 4:20 p.m.

A Washington County Emergency Medical Service Authority ambulance met the Coast Guard at a pier on Moose Island to take Murphy for treatment.

Murphy's condition was unknown as of Monday night.
