A food rescue group in Maine is asking for the public’s help to keep its doors open.
The York County Food Rescue in Alfred distributes food to 45 food pantries and soup kitchens, helping more than 50,000 people this year and providing more than a million pounds of food.
But with a lack of funds, the food rescue is hoping that the public will help them keep their doors open.
Jodi Bisonnette of the food rescue said, "There is nothing more rewarding than when you look in someone's eyes, and you hand them food and they have nothing and they say thank you. That is why we do what we do."
Donations can be sent to the York County Food Rescue.
