Governor LePage Names New Dog ‘Veto'

The governor adopted the dog from a Maine animal shelter

Maine Governor Paul LePage and his wife adopted a dog from a local animal shelter and named him "Veto."

According to Governor LePage's Facebook page, the two decided to adopt a dog after their previous dog Baxter passed away.

They adopted Veto from the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society.

LePage recently vetoed a bill that would ease access to the drug Narcan which is used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

LePage's veto was overridden by Maine lawmakers.

The drug will now be available to the public without a prescription.
